Reading by Himself
Tonight at bedtime, Eston wanted to read by himself. On every page of several books, he very melodically said, "Do da do da do da do da do", and after the last page, "the end."

Where am me?
Last week, as Eston was getting dressed, he got a little stuck/lost in his shirt and proclaimed, "Where am me?"

Cheer for Me
Tonight, Eston ventured upstairs by himself to hang his little basketball hoop on the drawer of a chest that holds it the tightest. After he was up there a few minutes, he shouted over the balcony, "Mommy, come cheer for me!" [with pom poms]. Here is a video of one of his practice sessions last week.
Sit on My Knees
Eston isn't quite ready for potty learning (a new term I acquired yesterday when someone suggested that training is for non-human animals), but he has quite a lot of potty awareness. At dinner tonight, he said, "Hop down. I need to poop". We offered the potty (declined) and suggested that he go someplace private like his cousin Luis used to do (going #2 in his diaper, in a closet, just before potty learning). He said no and just stood at the table doing his business. We always ask him to sit on his knees or his bum at the table so he won't stand on chairs and fall. Dinner is so close to bath time that he wanted to finish dinner before a diaper change. After he finished his business, he said, "I need to sit on my knees, not my bum." Brilliant!
