He enjoyed our trip to Lake Allatoona at the end of August. He could stand up and touch at the Point almost all the way out to the float. We had great weather including a nice breeze, and a calm day up there.
We went to the GT-MTSU game this Saturday night outside of Nashville. Eston was looking forward to it for over a day, and was pumped to watch football and get to see Buzz. He actually got to high-five Buzz, but was scared about giving him a hug or getting closer! Our seats were on the front row of the end zone, which was pretty cool. We walked down during halftime to the other end to see GT people, and we narrowly missed getting a football to the head! Eston got to throw the practice field goal back to the equipment manager, which turned out to be a highlight of the game, given how much Eston loves playing football.
The previous weekend, Eston got to see the Gwinnett Braves play against the Charlotte Knights with Grandaddy Thomas and Grandma Lucy (Woosey to Eston). And he got to see the Yellow River Game Ranch, with deer, bison, cougar, bears, etc. He loved giving food to the various animals.
I recently asked Eston if he could spell out the word school for me, and he dutifully marched through the symbols: ess, see, aych, owe, owe, one (not ell)! :-) Not a bad effort! He knows how to spell his name, but if you ask him how to spell anything else, you might get his spelling for mommy (mmmoy).
While we do still have to discourage hitting and kicking on occasion, Eston is generally a very sweet little guy. When he says "Thank you!" or "You're welcome!" without prompting, it makes me happy. :-)
Favorite books include: Where the Wild Things Are, his firetruck book, Animal Farm (not Orwell's version).
He loves the song, "Rainbow Connection" and he is learning more of the words. For a long time, he only sang, "...and me" with a huge smile emanating on the word me. He's now working on rainbow, connection, dreamers, lovers, etc. Some tough words and concepts to explain in that song, but we'll get there one day.
